Snipgif is a free online tool that turns short videos into GIFs. Drop in a video, pick the moment you want, adjust the size and speed, and download a GIF in under a minute. There is also a GIF compressor for shrinking GIFs you already have.
Your files stay on your device
Most online converters upload your video to a server, process it there, and send the result back. Snipgif works differently. It runs the conversion inside your browser with ffmpeg.wasm, a version of the FFmpeg video toolkit built for the web. Your videos and GIFs are never uploaded, never stored by Snipgif, and are gone when you close the tab.
