This policy explains how Snipgif and Google Analytics use cookies and similar browser storage. Cookies are small files a website saves in your browser. Local storage works the same way but is never sent to a server automatically.
What Snipgif stores itself
Snipgif’s own code sets no cookies. It saves the following in your browser:
theme(local storage) remembers whether you chose the light, dark, or system theme. It is saved only when you use the theme switch, stays on your device, and is never sent anywhere. Until then, the site follows your device setting.- The site’s own files (cache storage) are saved so pages load faster and work offline, including when Snipgif is installed as an app. The converter engine (about 30 MB) is added the first time you choose a video or GIF in one of the tools, so they also work offline afterwards. These are copies of the website, not your data, and nothing is sent anywhere.
Clearing site data in your browser removes all of these.
Your videos and GIFs are never saved in cookies or storage. They stay in memory and are cleared when you close the page.
Cookies from Google
Snipgif shows no ads. The only third-party service that can set cookies is Google Analytics 4, which counts visits and shows how the tools are used.
- Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland get no analytics cookies. Snipgif tells Google Analytics not to store anything on your device, so only cookieless measurement is sent.
- Visitors elsewhere may get Google Analytics cookies, which tell new visits from returning ones.

How to control cookies and storage
You can view, block, or delete cookies and local storage in your browser settings, usually under Privacy or Site data. Blocking Google cookies does not stop the converter from working. Clearing site data resets your theme choice.
For how Snipgif handles personal data, see the Privacy Policy.
