These terms apply to your use of the Snipgif website and its tools (together, the “service”), operated by Snipgif. By using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
The service
Snipgif lets you convert videos to GIFs and compress GIFs in your web browser. The service is free, needs no account, and processes your files on your own device. See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled.
Your content
You keep all rights to the videos you use and the GIFs you create. Snipgif claims no ownership of them, never adds a watermark to them, and never receives them, because they are processed on your device.
You are responsible for the content you convert and share. Only use videos you own or have permission to use, and respect the rights of others, including copyright and privacy.
Acceptable use
When using the service, do not:
- create or share content that is illegal, or that infringes anyone’s rights;
- try to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its hosting;
- copy, scrape, or resell the site or its content in bulk.
Open source
The Snipgif source code is available on GitHub under the MIT License. The license governs the code; these terms govern your use of this website.
No warranty
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Results depend on your device and browser, and conversions can fail or produce different results, especially with large files or on devices with limited memory. Keep a copy of your original files.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Snipgif is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or content, arising from your use of the service or your inability to use it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Changes and availability
Snipgif may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service, and may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Morocco. This does not remove any rights you have under the mandatory consumer protection laws of the country where you live.
